Artists for Peace and Justice

Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) is a fundraising effort founded by Oscar-winning Canadian director Paul Haggis and friends in 2009. APJ encourages peace and social justice and addresses issues of poverty and enfranchisement in communities around the world.
The organization’s immediate goal is to build schools to serve the poorest areas of Haiti. APJ is committed to providing an education, hot meals, clean drinking water and regular medical treatments to the children living in the slums.
One of APJ's most recent successes has been the opening of Haiti's first free secondary school, which welcomed its first class of 400 grade 7 students in October! Eventually this groundbreaking school will educate, feed and care for 3000 students each year in grades 7–13.
It is important to note that 100% of funds raised by APJ are guaranteed to go back to the people of Haiti.
Artists for Peace and Justice is one of few charities that boasts such an extensive roster of celebrity board members including Ben Stiller, Olivia Wilde, James Franco, Josh Brolin, AnnaLynne McCord, Gerard Butler, Penelope Cruz.
