On Saturday, November 17, the Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Area (BYBIA) will kick off the holiday season with Holiday Magic, the spectacular annual community concert event in support of the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research (CANFAR), and we are pleased to announce this year’s main performance will be Canada’s own Shawn Hook!

Join us between 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Village of Yorkville Park (Cumberland & Bellair Streets) for the Official Tree Lighting, and an exciting performance by Pop Star SHAWN HOOK. He is a two-time Juno Fan Choice Award nominee, started garnishing attention with his 2015 hit “Sound of Your Heart” which received double platinum status in Canada, hit Top 20 in America, and made it to #1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart. With recent performances on Jimmy KimmelThe Today Show, and Live! With Kelly and Michael, his latest Certified Platinum single, “Reminding Me” featuring Vanessa Hudgens, peaked at #3 on Hot AC in Canada with Hook performing it on the So You Think You Can Dance finale.

CHUM 104.5’s Taylor Kaye will also be on hand to “flick the switch” and turn on the holiday lights to launch Holiday Magic in Bloor-Yorkville.

Taylor Kaye of CHUM 104.5 will be this year’s host at Holiday Magic!

This is a FREE EVENT and attendees can also enjoy hot beverages, courtesy of Goldstruck, for a suggested $2 donation, as they enjoy the glittering lights, our new majestic Christmas tree and storefronts swathed in festive decorations. Cash & cheque donations are also welcome in support of CANFAR.

CANFAR representatives will be on-site at the BYBIA Tent.

In addition to the holiday lighting and the Christmas tree located in the Village of Yorkville Park, patrons can also look forward to Holiday Magic programming and events in Bloor-Yorkville throughout the holiday season, including strolling Traditional Carolers on Fridays and Saturdays in December and the annual Toronto Santa Speedo Run on December 15. The Holiday Magic lighting ceremony will set the stage for holiday window displays, cheerful décor and festive lighting along tree-lined streets until the start of the new year.
