Over the course of three days, the Bloor-Yorkville area once again became the hub of Toronto Fashion Week® x RE\SET™. With shows taking place throughout the community at the ROM, Gardiner Museum, and P2 of the Yorkville Village Parking lot, it was hard to miss the excitement. The Lane of Yorkville Village became the official Fashion Environment and served as a dedicated presentation area for the public to browse collections, while hair and make-up were set up in the Atrium, giving an inside look at models getting ready to hit the runway.
From Wuxly’s ice rink presentation (which included Olympic champion Gabby Daleman serving as the perfect accompaniment to the brand’s vegan outerwear) to an opening night appearance from Gia Gunn and Kimora Blac (of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 and Season 9), there was no shortage of surprises and unexpected moments. Other highlights included the much-anticipated Mani Jassal presentation, which was set to the gorgeous backdrop of the ROM, while David Dixon presented his Bübl collection in partnership with Osteoporosis Canada (his pieces creatively incorporated bubble wrap to bring awareness to the most susceptible areas of the body in terms of osteoporosis).
Toronto favorite Mikhael Kale brought guests out for a late night in the Parking Garage. Fittingly, his collection featured his take on Canadian outerwear with an athleisure-meets-eveningwear twist. At the Gardiner Museum, Lesley Hampton showed a collection of day or night pieces fit for nearly every occasion, and spotted front-row on night 3 was the one and only Tessa Virtue, taking in the David Dixon show. Three days proved there’s never a dull moment when it comes to Toronto fashion!
We were pleased to have collaborated on a curated Fashion Talks panel featuring the iconic Jeanne Beker and Fotini Copeland. As Toronto’s most celebrated neighborhood of fashion and style, we’re happy to be the home of choice for this highly-anticipated event.
