The Bloor-Yorkville BIA is proud to return as the Official Community Partner for CANFAR‘s (Canadian Foundation for Aids Research) Bloor Street Entertains (BSE). This annual charity event brings together our esteemed retailers and renowned chefs for a one-of-a-kind evening. CANFAR is dedicated to ending the HIV endemic in Canada and has raised more than $22 million toward HIV/Aids research projects, each of which has led to tremendous breakthroughs in prevention, testing, treatment, and stigma prevention. This year’s event is returning to an in-person format, taking place on November 25th, and features sixteen Bloor-Yorkville venues.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of BSE with the event honouring long-time CANFAR partners and patrons, as well as pay tribute to healthcare communities, including Canadian HIV research scientists who have been fighting both COVID-19 and HIV. Of this years event, CANFAR CEO Alex Filiatrault, says:
“A year ago, we held a virtual edition of BSE in the midst of COVID lockdowns. We’re thrilled to return to in-person dining for this exceptional edition of BSE25 this fall … It was also one year ago that we celebrated an important milestone in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Canada: the approval of HIV self-testing kits. This has brought us that much closer to our goal of ending the HIV epidemic by 2025, but much work still needs to be done and the support of our donors and patrons is critical at this stage,” he added.
Participating Bloor-Yorkville venues include The Four Seasons Hotel, Tiffany & Co., Dolce & Gabbana, Gardiner Museum, Park Hyatt Hotel Toronto, Hazelton Hotel Toronto, Vintage Conservatory, Holt Renfrew, Brunello Cucinelli, Christian Louboutin, Gucci, Harry Rosen, Louis Vuitton, Lumas, Rimowa, Taglialatella Galleries, and William Ashley. Each of these fantastic spaces will be transformed into intimate dinner settings with guests also receiving invitations to one of four after dinner Red Carpet Receptions. Please note that strict COVID-19 protocol will be in place, including proof of vaccination.
Throughout the evening, guests can participate in the highly-anticipated silent auction which features everything from vacations, to luxury items and experiences at incredible price points. We encourage you to visit the official CANFAR website to learn more about this incredible charity organization, make a donation, or to purchase tickets to this year’s Bloor Street Entertains.
