Yorkville Lane, formerly known as Renaissance Court, has a fresh new feel thanks to exciting new businesses and top-notch dining. If you’re not familiar with this discrete little laneway, you’ll find it at 162 Cumberland Street, connecting Cumberland Street and Yorkville Avenue. Filled with fairy lights and a gorgeous stone pathway, Yorkville Lane has a distinct European feel. Below, you’ll find the unique businesses located within the lane that make it a great place to explore!
Yorkville Lane
B Hemmings & Co. is a staple of Bloor-Yorkville having made our community their home for over 40 years! When they moved into their current location at Yorkville Lane, they rebranded from Betty Hemmings to B Hemmings & Co. and completed their transformation by having a unique storefront facade designed to mimic the aesthetics of train travel! Specializing in luggage and leather goods that you won’t find elsewhere, the design of the store is just as fascinating to look at as their handmade goods. Complete with metal detailing and vaulted ceilings, the space recreates the experience of a train car – the perfect backdrop for discovering your new luggage staples.
Tucked across the lane from B Hemmings & Co. you’ll spot Alobar’s distinct fairy-lights and large terrace lined with lush greenery. Alobar remains one of the most coveted locations to secure a reservation in Yorkville. It puts its foot forward as a cocktail bar, but is in fact a full-fledged restaurant. Alobar features an exquisite menu created by renowned chef, Patrick Kriss offering choice raw items with fine accoutrements, fish and chops off of the charcoal grill, and world-class wines.

Located in the Yorkville neighbourhood of Toronto, Salon is an exclusive room for private events. Like Alo, Salon is a space for fine dining that pairs the best seasonal ingredients with classic French technique. In addition to multi-course dinners, Salon hosts boutique events such as wine tastings, brand activations, weddings, business meetings and lunches. Salon also caters off-site events, from intimate family functions to large corporate events.

The newest shop on this block, DICE is redefining how we approach fruit! Unsatisfied with generic takes on fruit salad, the founders were inspired by years of backpacking and decided to bring the most tropical and hard-to-find fruit back home. Offering parfaits, chia-pudding, smoothies, and bowls, they offer a take on fruit you are sure to be surprised by. Their chefs even create their own sauces which include ingredients such as maple lime, spicy gochutgaru honey lime, ginger turmeric and much more.
For the truest sense of an Italian coffee shop, you’ll want to stop by ZaZa for hand-crafted espresso and gelato made on-site! Recently opening at Yorkville Lane, you’ll also find a selection of fine Italian desserts that can’t be found elsewhere. Their quaint terrace out front is the perfect spot to people watch and enjoy your #MeTime.
