Bloor-Yorkville Holiday Magic 2021
We’re thrilled to announce the return of Holiday Magic, our annual holiday lighting ceremony and live concert. Join us at the Big Rock, in the Village of Yorkville Park as we kick off the season with a fabulous lighting display and live performances by two Canadian artists. Taking place on Saturday, November 27th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, this is a free event, open to guests of all ages.
Musical Performance by KIESZA
This year, we are excited to welcome international pop star KIESZA to our stage! With over 492 million YouTube views, 268 million streams on Spotify, and top 20 chart placement across North American and Europe, KIESZA is a multi-platinum and three-time Juno award-winning artist.
Set to deliver an exciting lineup of her top hits, including “Giant in My Heart,” and the widely recognized hit single “Hideaway,” as well as her newest release, which includes “All of the Feelings,” her performance will be the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
CARYS To Perform as Opening Act
Opening the event is special guest CARYS. Her performance will include her hit single “Princesses Don’t Cry” which has exceeded 150 million + global streams! Known as Aviva Chiara Mongillo, CARYS is also a Canadian actress. She is known for her roles as Alya Kendrick in the Family Channel’s Backstage and Juniper in the CBC sitcom Workin’ Moms.
Tree Lighting Ceremony
This year’s event will be hosted by etalk’s Chloe Wilde who will be helping us countdown and launch our annual “Flick the Switch” lighting ceremony, which sees the Village of Yorkville Park transform for the holidays.
Our enchanting “tunnel” is a beautiful space to stop, take photos, and get in the festive spirit. A walk through the park takes you through a variety of different displays to explore, from snowflakes to the “light fountain,” making for a magical night out. Additionally, we’ll have 138 lit trees along Bloor Street. The lighting will remain until the end of December, brightening the area throughout the winter.
CANFAR
Holiday Magic is proudly in support of CANFAR (The Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research). Over the past three decades, CANFAR has invested more than $22 million in grants to support HIV/AIDS research projects that have led to tremendous breakthroughs in HIV prevention, testing, access to treatment and stigma prevention.
Guests at Holiday Magic can donate to CANFAR by visiting the BY-BIA on-site tent. Both cash and cheque donations will be accepted.
