If you’re running low on unique ideas for Father’s Day, fear not! Typical plans might be on hold this year, but we’ve got a few ways to create an extra-special day for dad. With restrictions for health and safety in place, there’s still a number of ways to get outside, enjoy the neighbourhood, and create some extra-special memories.
Kick off with a Coffee Run
Lattes and baked goods are the perfect way to start Dad’s day. Sorry Coffee Co., located adjacent to the Village of Yorkville Park, is infamous for their perfectly crafted espresso. Paired with one of their baked goods from organic bakehouse Motherdough, and you’ll be set for a morning walk throughout the neighbourhood. First, you may want to check out the adjoining Kit&Ace boutique to browse their assortment of technical apparel.

Afternoon Entertainment: Yorkville Exotic Car Show – Virtual Edition
Each Father’s Day, the Yorkville Exotic Car Show takes over Bloor Street West for the full day, complete with a red carpet and an endless showcase of exotic and luxury cars. This year, the event is headed online: log on at 1:00 PM to the @BloorYorkvile Instagram Live and take part in a digital version of this annual charity event. Our very own, Rick Kaczmarek, Director of Marketing for the BY, will also be live on the scene with Grand Touring Automobiles, set up outside the Colonnade at 131 Bloor Street West, where we will be showcasing a 2020 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera valued at $417,000, as well as a priceless 1966 Aston Martin DB6. The DBS Superleggera will be featured in the newest James Bond film, No Time To Die (out this November). This incredibly rare Aston martin is the only of its kind in North and South America! If you can’t be in the area for a walk-by viewing, you can still watch this segment on the live feed.
Other cars and hosts include: Steve Bortolotti, Manager at @PfaffAuto with a Porsche 935.
Auto journalist Jim Kenzie and @LegendaryMotorCar with a Ferrari F50.
Ron Fellows, representing @ChevroletCanada and the new mid-engine C8 Corvette.
Vajid Khan, chair of @CarsandChaiTO, showcasing his Lamborghini AventadorSVJ.
This year, the event is in proud support of the Canadian Cancer Society
