Granite on Bloor Street, herringbone patterned sidewalks on Yorkville Avenue, and seasonally-changing flower beds and hanging pots are a few of the standout streetscape components that make Bloor-Yorkville a unique place to visit.
In addition to our extensive seasonal gardens and planters, other beautification projects include our decorative blue lampposts, holiday lighting and decorations, the Urban Campfire Benches along Bloor Street, the Bloor Street Crown Lights, which brighten up the neighbourhood throughout the winter, and our spring “Fashion Birds,” a creative solution to our spring gardens. Each of these streetscape components bring a distinct aesthetic to the neighbourhood and add to the vibrancy of the area.
A major BY-BIA accomplishment was the Bloor Street Transformation project, which turned Bloor Street into a world-class destination. Improvements included widening of sidewalks on Bloor Street between Avenue Road to Church Street with granite, significant tree planting, and year-round landscaping and lighting.
We have full-time contractors dedicated to pressure washing, graffiti and gum removal, garbage removal and general up-keep of the area, ensuring the cleanliness of the neighbourhood.
